Travelled over 25 hours to Dallas, Texas and not gonna lie, I only attended this #VIDSUMMIT presentation to make my son's day (he's a huge fan of Jordan Barclay aka Eystreem!), but my goodness I truly had a fantastic experience going through the journey, lessons, and amazeballs stats.
As a parent, I now understand why my 75 inch 4K OLED TV is used to watch his videos instead of my football 🤣ðŸ˜
But man it's amazing to see how Eystreem has built a media empire at just 22 years old; 100 staff members, 17 million subscribers, a 6 figure partnership with LEGO and over 5 billion views (and counting) across all his channels!
But what struck me most were the lessons he shared:
✅Complementary channels to maximize views; targeting the lil sister, the older brother, the parents! Who knew my son's favorite YouTuber had a genius strategy? I thought the fella just recorded Minecraft videos!
✅The importance of audience satisfaction (likes, comments, and repeat viewers! Using all that data to maximize potential of future content)
✅Diversifying channels/networks to woo brands (bespoke campaigns for different demographics)
✅Reducing costs through systems and identifying market gaps (launching new channels, using automation for admin work! Fun fact for 3 years his company had no admin work!)
✅What brands want: personality and genuine connections with the audience!
I'm not a gaming expert, but Eystreem's insights were invaluable. His passion, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit are contagious; super inspired to level up my game 🔥
Shoutout to my son's favourite YouTuber for inspiring a new generation of creators (and parents like me!)
