Welcoming Students to the Power 98FM studios!

"A New Generation Takes the Airwaves: Hosting Fu Hua Sec Students at the Radio Studio

Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting a group of students from Fu Hua Secondary School at our Power 98 radio studios as part of their career exploration program. These curious minds have already explored various industries, from cafes to pilot simulators and VR experiences. Now, it was our turn to show them the magic of radio broadcasting!

At first, they were shy, hesitant, and dare I say disinterested 🤣 but with a dash of Gen Z slang and some icebreakers, I managed to coax them out of their shells. Well, most of them anyway– some still rolled their eyes, but hey, that's all part of the fun of entertaining teens!

As we explored the studio, I shared with them my own journey in the industry. How I've had to evolve from just being a radio DJ to becoming a social media content creator, and all-around multimedia user. It's a brave new world out there, and I'm grateful to have be on the journey of adapting and evolving (still learning every single day).

I told the students how lucky they are to have an abundance of resources at their fingertips. From YouTube tutorials to podcasts, TED talks, and online courses, the possibilities for learning and growth are endless. I encouraged them to soak it all in, to explore their passions, and to never stop learning.

As they left the studio, I wished them all the best on their own journeys. May they find their own voices, their own creative outlets, and their own paths to success. Who knows? Maybe one day they'll be the ones hosting shows, creating content, and inspiring the next generation! (Whose turn it will then be to roll eyes🤣)
